I mean okay, but these kind of challenges are just as easy as going to chatgpt and saying, hay man translate this hex code to ascii characters lol. Not like you gonna find smt like this in real world

So, is there some comfortable test to figure out whether something is encoded in hex vs say octal or some other arbitrary base?

To solve it you dont need Cyberchef, which is pretty neat but takes effort and understanding away. There are little terminal applications which do different convertions.

Tip: The code looks like it has a base of 16.

i use online code solvers and i know it means i cheat, what should i use to do this stuff(i have the basic linux for chromebook if that helps)
