fun fact: i dont know how others solved this, but i used forensics to solve this one, just turn the encoded from octal to a certain encryption and then vinegar should probably help.. no more hints cuz i've said too much (sorry)

You should gogling about "how much did maggie originally cost?" and then do mathematicaly for that cost value. oh ya btw you should use vigenere cipher
